Born in 1998\, this Italian composer captivates with music both refined and concise\, frequently engaging in dialogue with solo instruments and classical forms. \nThis commission for cello and orchestra offers a platform for Alexey Stadler\, a Russian soloist renowned for his deep sensitivity. With training under Rostropovič\, Stadler has received accolades performing with maestros like Gergiev\, Eschenbach\, and Currentzis. He will present Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme\, Op. 33 (1876)\, originally altered by cellist Fitzenhage but later restored to align with Tchaikovsky’s classical vision. \nThe evening concludes with the ‘Linz’ Symphony by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart\, composed in just a few days in 1783.
